BEER

KAMIYAMA BEER is handmade in small batches using ʻBrewha BIACʼ tanks, a Canadian electric system. Our mission is to make fun, surprising, expertly crafted and delicious beers integrating Kamiyama’s rich local ingredients.

All our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and naturally carbonated in the keg or bottle.
*Our beer is best drunk as fresh as possible and should be kept in the fridge at all times. Bottles contain a yeast sediment and should be stored upright and poured gently to keep the sediment in the bottle.

Brewed using Pilsner malt, wheat malt and raw Kamiyama grown wheat. The Kamiyama wheat had been grown for 70 years by a local farmer and has been rediscovered and being grown organically by Food Hub Project.

Based on an Irish 'Extra' or 'Foreign Export' Stout. When we built our brewery we had to cut down several plum trees, by toasting wood chips and adding them to the fermented beer it brings a sweet fruity wood aroma, mixing perfectly with the smooth roasted chocolate / coffee and dark flavours of the stout.

HO-HO KE KYO

A refreshing hybrid of a Belgian witbier and an American IPA with moderate bitterness, made using Belgian Pilsner malt and raw flaked wheat . Dryhopping is done with the unique Sorachi Ace hop developed by Sapporo brewery in the 1980's that gives fresh and herbal notes of Lemon and Dill. Recommended to enjoy while listening to the birds practise their songs and letting the sun warm your skin again.

YAMAYAMA KURUKURU

Umeboshi inspired wheat ale made with ripe yellow Ume from our garden, red shiso and salt. Unlike umeboshi the beer is nicely balanced with neither salt, or sourness overpowering, you might be reminded of pink champagne while drinking! The name is the title of an artwork made during our first visit to Kamiyama about Umeboshi.
